Day 22: Trump Threatens to Obliterate Iran’s Power Plants โ€” Missiles Hit Israeli City of Arad, 64 Wounded

Trump gave Iran 48 hours to reopen the Strait of Hormuz โ€” or face destruction of its power plants. Iran responded by striking the Israeli city of Arad. The war enters a terrifying new phase.

The war between the United States, Israel, and Iran entered its 22nd day with an escalation that rattled the world. President Trump issued his most explosive threat yet: if Iran doesn’t fully open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, the US will “hit and obliterate their various POWER PLANTS, STARTING WITH THE BIGGEST ONE FIRST!” Iran’s answer came fast โ€” missiles rained down on the southern Israeli city of Arad, wounding 64 people, seven of them critically.

Iran launched its longest-range attack yet, targeting the US-UK joint base at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. Bahrain has intercepted 143 missiles and 242 drones since Iranian attacks began. Saudi Arabia shot down 47 drones in a single three-hour barrage. Stanford economists estimated the average US household will spend an additional $740 on gas this year due to war-driven oil price surges.

The IAEA warned that even heavily damaged nuclear facilities cannot fully eliminate Iran’s enrichment knowledge and materials. Israel warned its strikes on Iran would “increase significantly” in the coming week. The Trump administration lifted sanctions on millions of barrels of Iranian oil already at sea to ease soaring domestic gas prices.

A nine-person jury in San Francisco found Elon Musk liable for deliberately misleading Twitter investors ahead of his $44 billion takeover. “Musk’s status as the world’s richest man is not a free pass,” said plaintiffs’ attorney Francis Bottini. Musk’s legal team called the verdict “a bump in the road” and said they look forward to vindication on appeal. Musk’s fortune is estimated at about $814 billion โ€” making the $2.1 billion judgment a fraction of his net worth.

Gas Closing in on $4 a Gallon โ€” US Families Spending $740 More This Year Because of Iran War

โ›ฝ US Economy  ยท  Energy & Cost of Living

Gas prices are closing in on $4 a gallon nationally. Stanford economists estimate the typical US household will spend an additional $740 on gas this year because of the jump in global oil prices driven by the Iran war. Every 1-cent increase in gasoline prices reduces consumer spending by $1.5 billion annually โ€” making the current surge a significant drag on the broader economy.

US Secretly Planning to Secure Iran’s Nuclear Materials โ€” IAEA Warns It May Be Impossible

โ˜ข๏ธ Nuclear Security  ยท  Iran & US Intelligence

The Trump administration has been strategizing how to secure or extract Iran’s nuclear materials. The IAEA’s chief warned that even a fully degraded Iranian nuclear program cannot be truly eliminated by airstrikes โ€” enrichment knowledge, scientists, and some materials will survive. Any mission to extract or destroy Iran’s nuclear stockpile would require either a ground operation or Iran’s cooperation โ€” neither of which appears likely.
